Sustainability and social responsibility

For the second year in a row, Infor is partnering with local organizations and working hard to reduce, reuse, and recycle at Inforum.  Read on to see what we are doing and what you can to do help.  We look forward to having you along for this journey.

Walter E. Washington Convention Center

As one of the largest buildings in our nation’s capital, the Walter E. Washington Convention Center recognizes the importance of implementing sustainability initiatives from the bottom up.  The Convention Center operates under a commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and making a difference every day. “The Know the Code” color-coded recycling and waste minimization program has helped the Convention Center take the lead on extensive recycling initiatives and effectively employing environmentally responsible products.

Read more about sustainable programs in the brochure, Green Initiatives at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.

Infor partners with local organization to reduce food waste

DC Central Kitchen

DC Central Kitchen’s mission is to use food as a tool to strengthen bodies, empower minds, and build communities. As the nation’s first and leading community kitchen, DC Central Kitchen develops and operates social ventures targeting the cycle of hunger and poverty. They fight hunger differently by training jobless adults for culinary careers and then hiring dozens of their own graduates to prepare the 3 million meals they provide each year for homeless shelters, schools, and nonprofits. Their ventures also prevent the waste of millions of pounds of nutritious food; expand access to healthy, local options in urban food deserts; and scale their model nationally through strategic partnerships.

DC Central Kitchen distributes 5,000 meals a day. They will pick-up our perishable and prepared food items donations on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday during Inforum.
